Read All of This So You Won't Be Surprised. We realize most people simply do not read user manuals or instructions. If
that is you most of the time, fine, but please don't jump into this software before reading all of this page, watching the Live365 demonstration videos and downloading and printing the QuickStart
booklet.
What It Is: Professional music scheduling software which has been in use in the commercial radio business for over fourteen years. Hundreds of stations world-wide, in all kinds
of formats use the software today.
Why You Need It Click-and-drag playlist creation is tedious and time consuming. "Shuffle" playlist creation tosses content control out the window.
With M1, you have total control of everything. You determine the kind of tempo mix you want in any and all hours. You have artist and title separation control DMCA rules are observed automatically. You
control the segues, like you can tell M1 don't play "this" kind of song next to "that" kind of song. You also have total control of the placement of your station identifiers, promos and voice tracks. It
should take you no more than five minutes a day to get perfect, unique and ever-changing music playlists with M1.
What It Isn't It is not a 'player' or an 'automation system'; rather it
is a highly specialized application which produces music logs/playlists for the broadcaster's automation system or media player. It is not a consumer grade software, so it doesn't look, feel for
function like anything you've seen before. As it was not created for home use, some things you are used to doing in most Windows applications do not work in quite the same way in M1. For example, in
some places, the right-click button opens a function, in most places it does nothing. Except for working with the format clocks, there is are few click-and-drag actions.
What It Costs
Music 1 version 6 is the more advanced software and is lease-only @ $20/month, invoiced quarterly. Music 1 SE is a Special Edition for Webcasters contains all the functions most webcasters will ever
need and is a buy-out software @ $299. Read a version comparison here.
Webcasters
who use their own player/automation system and provide a direct feed to their host servers (Live365 calls this 'relay' webcasting) can use either SE or the 'regular' commercial radio version
6. Contact Steve at the M1 office for details.
What To Expect The software is relatively easy to master, but you must take a little time to learn the basics. WATCH THE LIVE365 VIDEOS FIRST! Read the QuickStart document. M1 co-creator Steve Warren is very friendly and helpful and a man of long experience in music radio programming. Don't be slow to contact him with any and all questions; phone or email
With M1 installed, you can download the library data from your locker on the Live365 site. Then create song rotation categories and 'Non-Music" categoriesfor your liners, jingles, promos,
bumpers, programs and voice tracks into those. That done, create one or more format clocks.
There are various formatting rules that can be applied to each category and to each clock. Don't
worry about setting formatting rules at first, you can do that later as you come to know how the software works and then decide what your rule needs will be.
The DMCA rules are built into M1
already, however, and those rules will be automatically applied as you begin scheduling.
Trial Period You can run 14 playlists/logs with this trial library. If you choose to become a
registered user and customer, we generate a new access code that is library-specific and will activate your registration for each additional term. The work you do within M1 during the trial will not
be lost. Your trail period playlists do not have to be consecutive. If you run logs up to the 10th, but then do not open M1 to schedule again until the 12th, it will make a log for the 12th. It
always makes a log for the 'next' date after the date of the last log in the system. Or, if it is now past that date, it makes a log for "today". Read about the specifics of uploading playlists in
advance in the QuickStart booklet.
IMPORTANT: We've prepared two short instructional videos to introduce you to the first-step basics. Watch
